FLYING BALLONS
Flying Ballons
was produced, written, edited, directed, and filmed By Darrin Andrew
La Morte.
Flying Ballons was painted on a 48in. by 48in. piece of lauan.
The lauan has 100 metal screws which were placed into the
wood in seperate rows of lines.
Their purpose so the ballons would expload when making contact to the Lauan.
During the beginning of the Show La Morte, had put the paint inside
a smaller ballon and used another Ballon...
You see, which was filled with water.
The smaller ballons were inside and did not expload.
So, La Morte filled new coloured ballons with water. And added some acrylic paint inside them, some of them had too much water,;yet they did expload.
La Morte had fun throwing them towards the piece of four feet by four feet piece of lauan.
We watched La Morte explain about the "Dripping Effect"., we watched the paint fall at times, downward.
The Ballons;
they exploaded upon contact with the screws and sometimes just hitting the wood.
The paint produced a beautiful pastel effect. Some paint dried thicker than others.
Darrin Andrew La Morte, creates and paints FLYING BALLONS Orginally filmed outside in the Winter time in Connecticut, and the painting was later Filmed in Spring of 2005. The painting took a little over 3 months to complete. The last ballon filled with paint; was a Blue Ballon, inside it was water and paint.
The show ended with the paint
falling; in colours, like falling fireworks. In this show, & here, You get to see the finished painting.
