Darrin Andrew La Morte paints HIDDEN VALLEY on 6,October, 2009 in Hidden Valley, CA.
Hidden Valley, incorporates a open field of clearing
a small farm with some cows grazing on a very warm hot sunny day.
The lines across the painting are two telephone phone lines,
the road has a sharp bend in it, you see these Three Yellow street signs; the clouds,
and the White water towers high up on the hill. The road in Hidden valley, CA., is very sandy and very, very windy. It is also was very, very
The wind and dust hit my face as I painted exposed to the warm Californian sun the heat had burnt my face and forehead.
For Six and half hours I stood there along the side of the road in the dirt painting "Hidden Valley". Cars and bicyclists drove and rode bye, very little traffic,
it just seem very quiet there.
You see, Darrin Andrew La Morte, saw these beautiful dark brown cows
gazing along side
of the road while driving he stopped and admired the cows in Hidden valley. So one day, he thought this would be a wonderful place to paint.
Aside from the cars going bye, It is very quiet and peaceful place. It is so quiet at times, one could get lost here and lose track of the time.
If you drop something you can hear it in your mind for hours.
A very beautiful place with the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in the background.
Several images may be seen in Darrin Andrew La Morte's painting,
Hidden Valley La Morte uses oil paint, mixed with darker shades of green oils, and once Darrin Andrew La Morte finished the painting, it fell face down
into the dirt and small particles' of the tan dirt and a few sticks from the off road sticks
and dirt may be visible in the painting.
Painted on canvas. I could not find a art store in the area that sold linen primed canvas.
So I used canvas instead of my favorite linen.
The road does go somewhere? At this moment in time, I do know it went around in a bend; standing there for all of those hours painting you get a feeling of a quiet beautiful place.
Yet it is in within reach. It is in a place all of its own.
I am not sure where the road leads to, but I know that is as far as I wanted to go.
The size is: 24 x 30 in. ( 60.96 x 76.2 cm.).
The painting is: Signed: Darrin Andrew La Morte and Dated: 6. October.2009
And the painting
is also Inscribed: "Hidden Valley".
