The Lumina String Quartet is pleased to announce a special series of August concerts that will display the virtuosity of Connecticut's
finest professional string quartet and artistry of several talented youthful ensembles.
These young musicians have all participated in a competitive audition, been placed in a quuartet with other highly motivated youngsters,
and worked arduously under the tutelage of Lumina String Quartet members to master all four movements of a major work by a great composer.
In concert, each group will play a complete quartet.
Some of these quartets
have been together for several years, during the time they have
enjoyed many opportunities to play both professional and benefit engagements
throughout Fairfield County and New York City.
This project was made possible in part through public funding from The City of Stamford, Dannel Malloy, Mayor, to encourage and promote arts. The Stamford Cultural Development Corporation (SCDC),as the
officially designed arts service organization for Stamford,
manages the Community Art Partnership Program by means
of private funding from local corporations and individuals and The Stamford Center for The Arts (SCA) Reach Out Program.
